After months of teasing, BIG BANG’s Choi Seung-hyun, better known as TOP, has finally launched its long-awaited “T’SPOT” wine label. Most recently, the K-pop superstar, actor, and renowned art collector partner joined the dearMoon Crew, a crew of eight civilians led by Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa, who will fly into space in one of Elon Musk’s SpaceX Starships.

T’SPOT is part of a planning, branding and operations partnership between TOP and his friend Park Jae-bum of Vino P Co. Built around its immense passion for wine, TOP “personally participated in the entire wine selection process,” found expert producers in Bordeaux, France who share the same view of wine through a rigorous tasting and selection process. In addition, TOP reviewed an extensive array of artwork during the development of the brand and packaging, recruiting his old friend and Japanese contemporary artist Kohei Nawa to design the labels found on T’SPOT’s inaugural releases, T’SPOT SPARKLING BRUT and T’SPOT BORDEAUX RED.

T’SPOT BORDEAUX RED, produced by Jean-Luc Thunevin, also known as “Bad Boy”, a pioneer of garage wine in Bordeaux, and his team, is a blend of Merlot (80%), Cabernet Franc (15% ) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%) grapes grown in clayey plateau and clayey limestone soil. Evenly aged in an oak barrel and concrete tank, the 2018 vintage expresses a ruby red color, a nose of pleasant red ripe berries and cherries, with a hint of vanilla. The medium-bodied classic Bordeaux wine has structure, balance and roundness, with melted tannins and freshness exuding complex elegant notes of raspberry, cherry, blackberry and plum.

The Boisset Bruis T’SPOT SPARKLING BRUT is made entirely from Airen grapes using the Charmat method (Cuve Close). The bright yellow, golden white wine delivers a nose full of orchard fruit such as fresh apple and lemon with aromas of white flowers. The crunchy and lively taste carried by the bubbles offers a smooth and accessible, well-balanced taste.

Priced at €12 and €14 EUR (approximately $13 and $15 USD), bottles of T’SPOT SPARKLING BRUT and BORDEAUX RED are now available on the T’SPOT website and at select retailers across South Korea.
