Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street shared Steve McDonald’s comeback story after actor Simon Gregson injured himself in real life.
Earlier this month, the soap star explained that he had broken his leg in six places. It was later revealed that the ITV series would write in Gregson’s real-life injury and welcome the actor back to the set after a three-month absence.
In the upcoming scenes, Steve will return from his trip to Spain in a wheelchair because he broke his ankle.

He then confesses to Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) that he may have kept some details about his vacation injury a secret so as not to anger Tracy (Kate Ford). He explains that she must never find out what really happened.
Later, Tim is furious that Sally (Sally Dynevor) gave away his favorite coat in a charity swap. He feels even worse when he sees Steve wearing it. Enraged, he talks to Tracy and tells her that Steve broke his foot at a foam party surrounded by other women.
Karma continues to fool Steve and Tim when the former finds a scratch card in his new jacket. After Steve discovers he won £250, Tim is furious and points out that both the jacket and the scratch card belong to him. Will they be able to solve the case?

Gregson shared a health update in early November, explaining that he had started riding again, but had to be careful not to slip while walking so as not to go “back to square one”.
“I broke my leg. I literally went over it and rolled my ankle, outside the back of the house. It happened in six places,” he explained earlier this month.
“I can drive now, but walking on wet fields is a no-go for me. Because if I slip, it’s back to square one.”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and is streamed on ITVX.
