Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street‘s Toyah Battersby has chosen to trust Spider Nugent after his true loyalties were revealed.
As viewers will know, Spider has been working undercover for the police for the past few months in an attempt to take down Griff and his far-right gang. However, after Max Turner was injured in a car explosion, Spider decided to confess all.
Tonight (December 23), Toyah made the decision to rekindle her relationship with Spider, despite the danger posed by Griff and his men.
With Max hospitalized from his injuries, Spider decided to visit Toyah to make sure she had not revealed his identity to anyone, and to explain why he was working for the police.

“I let go if I wanted to change something in the world, protest wasn’t enough… I wanted to make a difference, so I joined the police force.” he said.
When Toyah learned about Max’s injuries, she insisted they tell David about the situation. However, Spider begged her to keep quiet, saying he believed the bomb meant Griff was preparing for an attack.
“People can die,” he warned.
Meanwhile, Griff visited Max in the hospital, forcing him to believe the explosion was his fault. The pair’s conversation was interrupted by the police and Max, under Griff’s supervision, insisted the explosion was an accident involving a camping stove.
Spider later called Toyah to thank her for keeping his secret, but insisted the pair should keep their distance for her own safety, abruptly ending the call after Toyah asked him to come over.

“I know you wouldn’t lie to me unless you had a good reason, you’re a good man,” she said before inviting him, but Spider turned her down, concerned for her safety.
Back at Toyah’s flat, Spider came over to tell her that while he loves her, he can’t risk putting her in danger by Griff. However, Toyah insisted she could decide what was best for her because she wanted to take the risk.
“We can be scared separately or we can be scared together,” she said before the pair shared a kiss.
Will their relationship be safe from Griff and his gang?
