Speaking of his dedication to the village, he explained: “Only after about three or four years of work Emmerdale that I realized how lucky I was. When you’re that young you don’t understand the caliber of the show.
“But I had about six months off when I wasn’t sure if I was going to go back, and everything started to sink in. I realized how big Emmerdale was and how many people are watching it, and I was like, ‘Wow, I have to hold this and take it seriously!'”
And it turns out there’s a practical reason why Jacob doesn’t have as much screen time, as the character is currently pursuing a degree in hopes of becoming a doctor.
He joked: “Jacob has been pretty quiet – but you wouldn’t want scenes of him reviewed would you? I hope it picks up soon because I miss work when I’m not around. Honestly. I have a goal for the day to get up. I’m happier when I’m at work.”

“He’s definitely going to play a part in those relationships, not to give anything away! He’s always there for David and Leyla, and he’ll try to give them good advice,” he said.
