As in previous games, The Witcher’s 3 power places are special places that Geralt can activate to get a boost for each of his five magical characters. You get a skill point for visiting each power place the first time and only the character improvement after that. They are not very difficult to find, as you can see them on the world map and Geralt’s medallion vibrates when you are nearby.
What the map doesn’t tell you is which of the power places on the map correlate to each of your five witch signs. We’ve got all six places of power in White Orchard, the first main map of The Witcher 3, mapped out here for you. Don’t just run to the first spot you see when there’s a specific character you want to boost up for battle.
Please note that there is also an achievement to activate five power places at once. That’s another deed in Geralt’s name that you can easily pick up while you’re here. Read on below for a route to do this the fastest.
When you return to The Witcher 3, you need to refresh your memory Witcher 3 novels and find out how to grasp that newness Henry Cavill Witcher armor in the update.
The Witcher 3 Places of Power: White Orchard
- Earth – In the forest immediately north of the Igni stone in the cemetery, surrounded by a circle of other large rocks
- Axii – Immediately west across the bridge from the Mill fast travel, northeast of the Sawmill, in a wooded area
- Igni – White Orchard cemetery, north of the Mill fast travel post
- Quen – South of the broken bridge, fast travel station, on top of the hill overlooking the ravine
- Quen – Just east of Cackler Bridge fast travel station, tucked between two hills
- Yrden – East of the abandoned village, just south of the road between the trees
How to get the Power Overwhelming feat
For the achievement hunters in the room, the Power Overwhelming is one you get when you have all five character buffs active at the same time. This isn’t too difficult as each bonus stays active for about 20 minutes, but due to the size of the map, White Orchard is the easiest place to unlock the Power Overwhelming achievement.
I would recommend starting at the northernmost sign, the Earthstone north of the Mill fast travel point.
From there you can hike downhill to the cemetery to grab Igni, head west across the bridge to Axii, turn almost due south to Quen and east along the road to end up with Yrden.
You can take Roach on a scenic tour to reach all those spots or just use the fast travel posts if this is just a pit stop on your journey to big achievements.
