How to Evolve Charcadet in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon Violet and Scarlet are full of new Pokemon in the Paldea region for players to discover and catch. One of those new Pokemon is Charcadet, a small red knight-like Pokemon that can be quite powerful. Charcadet can evolve into Armarouge, a Fire/Psychic Pokemon, in Scarlet, or Creuledge, a Fire/Ghost Pokemon, in Violet. Whichever version you play, you need a special item to evolve Charcadet.

Where to find Charcadet

Charcadet can be found in most of Paldea, although it is considered uncommon.

As for finding a Charcadet, the Pokedex entry lists its habitat as most of the southern half of Paldea. Personally, I found them easiest to find in South Providence Area Three, which is directly east of Mesagoza. They can be hard to spot because of their small stature, but the bright red color makes them a bit easier to spot. You can also consume some food that stimulates the capture of fire-type Pokemon to aid in this endeavor.

To evolve Charcadet, you must travel to Zapapico, which is located on the eastern half of Paldea in the central part. It is west of the Lurking Steel Titan challenge area. Here you need to find a man in a checkered shirt who wants to trade something. In Scarlet you have to act 10 Bronzer Fragments in front of Favorable armor and in Violet you must act 10 Sinistea Chips in front of Evil armor.

In Pokemon Violet you need 10 Sinistea chips.

Both Pokemon can be found early in the game, albeit in very limited areas. These crafting items, usually used to craft TMs, drop when you defeat one in a battle in the wild, so track down a group and use the autobattle feature to take them down quickly. Once you have obtained 10 of the necessary items, you will trade the man for the armor. The armor works like other evolutionary items, but it is consumed as soon as it is used. There is no level requirement for developing Charcadet.

If you’re looking to evolve Charcadet in the other version, there are a few methods to do it. You can trade a friend for Charcadet’s evolved version of any version of the game you don’t own. You can also have a friend give the armor set to any Pokemon to hold and trade that Pokemon. you can not join a co-op session with a friend playing the other versionbecause the NPC still offers you the same evolution item as your version of the game.
