According to Fabrizio RomanoCunha has now signed documents to become a Wolves player.

The 23-year-old has all but confirmed his impending move by thanking Atletico Madrid supporters in a post on Instagram.

“About loving and feeling loved, things like this will never change,” wrote Cunha, who won eight caps for Brazil during his career.

“Feeling identified with something, feeling important, feeling affection, and being part of a whole family is different.

“To you athletes, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have great players as athletes and people. You have fans who make you feel at home, even on the other side of the world.

“Football is like that, just like any other job. There are people who are in charge because at one point it was very important, it has its hierarchies and there are people who make decisions and then you have to make yours too.”

‘My heart will always have a piece of Atleti! You always had my everything simply because I felt you gave me everything. Thank you very much, Cunha’

Cunha signed for Atletico in August 2021, but will be leaving the LaLiga giants after just 15 months as he battles to secure a spot in Diego Simeone’s squad.

The forward has scored seven goals in 54 appearances with the club, although a significant number of his appearances have been off the bench.

Cunha has made just one league appearance for Atlético this season and believes a loan deal could give him more opportunities.

Wolves will hope Cunha provided much-needed firepower during the second half of the season, with the Midlands side the lowest scorers in the Premier League with just eight goals in 15 games.

Ruben Neves has scored half of Wolves’ goals in the Premier League this season, with Daniel Podence, Goncalo Guedes and Adama Traore the only other players to find the back of the net.

Wolves are currently bottom of the Premier League on 10 points, four points off safety.
